Electric Brass Kettle by Peter Behrens for AEG, 1910s

Electric Brass Kettle by Peter Behrens for AEG

Electric brass kettle was designed by Peter Behrens for AEG company in 1909. It’s one of the items that started industrial design. These kettles are in collection of every major design and modern art museum, including New York MOMA or Centre Pompidou in Paris.

This AEG kettle was made in three different sizes and finishes. This one (model 3588) is a small 0,75 litre with matt brass finish. What is important this piece was never polished and despite having over 100 years it still retains its original lacquered matt brass finish.

Height: 20 cm
